Rick Drummond Bio

Rick Drummond is sole proprietor of R Drummond Consulting LLC based in Mesa, Arizona; and a Business Partner, Principal Consultant and Facilitator with The Thoren Group, LLC headquartered in Tempe, Arizona. 

Rick graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.  His career experience includes Engineering Design and Analysis, Manufacturing Engineering, Lean/Six Sigma deployment, teaching/training/coaching, strategy and goal development, and culture-focused leadership based on respect for people.  Rick is a seasoned business leader with over 30 years of professional experience, including 10 years as a Director of Operations. 

During his many years as a process improvement specialist, Rick successfully applied his skills in machining and assembly operations, special processes, aftermarket repair operations, shipping and receiving, warehouse and inventory operations, transactional business processes, and Engineering. He has created and delivered training in Lean, Greenbelt, Blackbelt, Leadership, and Root Cause Analysis to hundreds of professionals across all organizational levels. As an executive, Rick has directly managed multi-plant Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Engineering teams, Continuous Improvement teams, Facilities/Maintenance teams, Inventory Control and Planning Functions. He has also played a key role in MRP implementations. 

Through R Drummond Consulting, Rick currently offers business consulting services in the areas of operational improvement; leadership coaching and development; training/facilitating in leadership principles, Lean/Six Sigma, and root cause/problem solving. Through the Thoren Group, Rick has helped develop and implement communication and conflict management tools to drive innovation and productivity within teams.
